8:45-10:00 –   Session 1 – Anatomy of the lactating breast, physiology of milk production, breastfeeding positioning and latch, and how to define a feeding, night time feeding
10:15-10:30 – Break
10:30-12:00 – Session 2 – Getting off to a great start with breastfeeding right after birth, support of the breastfeeding dyad during the first week, managing early cracked nipples, pacifiers, engorgement
11:45-12:45 – Lunch (on your own)
12:45-2:00 – Session 3 – Case Based Learning- case of a non-gaining infant in the first week, case of nipple pain and engorgement in the first week, and a case of a baby who wants to suck all of the time
2:00-2:15 – Break
2:15-3:15 – Session 4 –The infant who is fussy at the breast or who won’t latch
3:15-4:15 –  Session 5 Milk expression, storage, returning to work
4:15-4:45 –  Session 6 Complementary foods, weaning
4:45 – 5:00 – Evaluations & Closing
