Manager for “Breastfeeding Welcome Here” & On-line Local Resource Directory

Julie Fields currently serves the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition as  manager of the “Breastfeeding Welcome Here” (BWH) program and manager of the KBC’s online Local Resource Directory. As manager of the BWH program, she will mail the window clings to businesses and keep the list of participating businesses up to date on the KBC website.

As the manager of the KBC’s online Local Resource Directory, Julie will be responsible for adding and maintaining a list of breastfeeding support resources in Kansas. She will be in touch with the local coalitions to determine breastfeeding resources to be added to the directory. Julie is a registered International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has been working as a private practitioner in the Pratt area and has been the leader of the Nursing Mamas Group since 2012.  She serves as the IBCLC for 8 counties in the LAACT Action grant project providing prenatal breastfeeding education and lactation consultations per physician’s order.  Julie and her husband are proud parents of 3 beautiful ever-growing, ever-challenging girls ages 9, 7, and 4.  She found her passion for breastfeeding after overcoming her own breastfeeding challenges and enjoys encouraging other moms along their breastfeeding journeys.  Julie is active in the Kansas breastfeeding community and enjoys supporting and promoting breastfeeding in communities across the state of Kansas.
