Misty Scott

Misty Scott, BSN, RN, IBCLC, has been a registered nurse in the maternal-child arena for nearly 25 years.  She developed her passion for infant & family-centered care while working in NICUs, where she also became a Certified Breastfeeding Educator.  After moving into public health in rural NE Kansas, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and realized the need to reach across community lines to bring consistent care to families.  She served in many roles, including Healthy Start Home Visitor, WIC, helped start the NE Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition, and opened a breastfeeding clinic in collaboration with the local community hospital and family practice clinic.  Misty has recently relocated to the Topeka area, where she grew up, to a small hobby farm with her family.  She is excited to join the KBC to serve NE Kansas as a Maternal-Child Benefits Specialist.
