About Katie Givens
Katie Givens is the incoming Executive Director of the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc. (KBC). She has dedicated her career to strengthening communities by connecting people and families to opportunity, supporting employers, and advancing systems that expand access for all. She holds HR certifications through HRCI and SHRM.
Katie recently became a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), further strengthening her commitment to advancing the health and wellbeing of families. Her dedication to this work is also personal. As a mother who experienced challenges in her own breastfeeding journey, she understands firsthand the importance of empathy, education, and strong support systems.
She is passionate about improving outcomes for families through education, support, and community partnerships, and advocates for breastfeeding and human milk feeding so parents have the resources they need to succeed.
Katie also champions workplace policies that help families thrive, including support for women in the workforce, pay equity, access to paid leave, and inclusive, accessible, employee-centered practices.
She believes that investing in people, removing barriers to opportunity, and leading with intention builds stronger communities and a more resilient future for all.
