Beyond the Basics is intended for those with experience providing breastfeeding support to families. It is assumed that attendees feel competent to counsel healthy parents on positioning, latch, and establishing/maintaining a milk supply in uncomplicated situations. It is NOT recommended for WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors or those new to the field of breastfeeding support.

Day 2:
1:00- 2:15 – The Preterm Infant (75 mins.)
2:15 – 3:00 – Tongue Tie (45 mins.)
3:00 – 3:15 – Break
3:15 – 4:00 – Breastfeeding & Protection from Infant Illness (45 mins.)
4:00 – 4:30 – Maternal Diet, Supplements, & the Fussy Term Breastfed Infant (30 mins.)
4:30 – 4:45 – Evaluation, questions
