Kansas Breastfeeding Education Courses New Funding Opportunity for Aspiring Lactation Support Providers:

In alignment with the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition’s (KBC) commitment to addressing disparities in breastfeeding, the KBC is pleased to announce a funding opportunity to support aspiring lactation support providers from communities with low breastfeeding rates. The KBC, with support from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, has committed $5,000 to this funding opportunity, with a maximum individual award of $1,000. Requirements: To be considered for funding, eligible applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements:
  • Self-identify as one or more of the following – Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander; OR –
  • Reside or support breastfeeding families in Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee, and Wyandotte counties, the nine (9) counties of Southeast Kansas, or the 19 counties of Southwest Kansas (Map of eligible counties)
